Game Mode Comparison
Zen vs Time Attack in Amrit Flow: Which Mode Should You Choose?

Two Ways to Master the Temple Flow
Most water-sort puzzles force you into a single rigid gameplay loop. In Amrit Flow, we built two entirely distinct chambers: Dhyana (Zen Mode) and Kala (Time Attack Mode).
Both modes share the same sacred pouring rules and temple-inspired aesthetics, but they challenge your brain in completely opposite ways. Here is how they compare so you can choose the right journey for your mood.
Dhyana (Zen Mode)
Named after the ancient Sanskrit concept of contemplative meditation, Dhyana is designed for tranquil focus.
- • No Timers: Move at your own rhythm without anxiety.
- • Deep Calculation: Plan 5 moves ahead and test variations.
- • Stress Relief: Ambient soundscapes and fluid visual feedback help decompress your mind.
Kala (Time Attack Mode)
Named after Kala, the relentless flow of cosmic time, this mode pushes your spatial reflex to the limit.
- • Countdown Timer: Solve before the sand of time expires.
- • Time Extensions: Every completed single-color vessel adds valuable seconds.
- • Adrenaline & Flow: Instant pattern recognition replaces slow deliberation.
Side-by-Side Comparison
| Feature | Dhyana (Zen) | Kala (Time Attack) |
|---|---|---|
| Timer | None (Untimed) | Active countdown clock |
| Pacing | Relaxed, thoughtful | Fast-paced, urgent |
| Best For | Evening wind-down & logic study | Quick breaks & high score thrill |
| Move Strategy | Multi-step planning & Undo testing | Immediate color clustering |
| Failure Condition | Only deadlocks (can restart/undo) | Clock reaches zero |
Which Mode Should You Start With?
If you are playing Amrit Flow for the first time, we strongly recommend completing the first 5 to 10 chambers in Dhyana Mode. This lets you master vessel capacities, learn how liquid layer transfers behave, and discover the importance of preserving empty pots.
Once the mechanics become second nature, switch to Kala Mode to test your reflexes and experience the exhilarating adrenaline rush of solving under pressure!
